About the Role
SurvWest, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Survey Project Manager (PLS) to lead complex survey projects and support the continued growth of our Survey and Geospatial Services from our Englewood, Colorado office.
This role provides technical leadership, project oversight, client management, and staff mentorship, and plays a key role in ensuring high-quality delivery across a wide range of survey project types including CDOT, DOT, energy, renewables, electric transmission, railroad, and civil infrastructure projects.
Required Qualifications
Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Colorado (required)
5+ years of professional surveying experience
Proven experience managing survey projects across multiple sectors
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley survey platforms
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Land Surveyor license in additional states (Texas a plus)
CDOT / TXDOT project experience
Trimble Business Center experience
Bentley software experience (MicroStation, OpenRoads / InRoads)
GIS experience
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Project & Client Leadership
Serve as Project Manager and technical lead for complex and high-value survey projects.
Manage client relationships and support business development efforts.
Oversee project budgets, schedules, staffing, and risk management.
Coordinate with SUE, Utility Coordination, and engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Technical & QA/QC Oversight
Provide senior-level technical review of survey deliverables.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and client specifications.
Support development and enforcement of internal QA/QC procedures.
Maintain awareness of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Staff Leadership & Mentorship
Supervise, mentor, and develop survey field and office staff.
Provide guidance on technical challenges and project execution.
Assist in hiring, training, and performance development of survey personnel.
Technology & Process Improvement
Identify and recommend improvements to survey technology, software, hardware, and workflows.
Lead implementation of updated standards and best practices.
Support long-term growth and scalability of survey operations.
Growth & Development
